The tropical courtyard and pretty exterior made a lovely first impression, and the location was really convenient, an easy walk from the main drag. The service was amazing. I only wish I’d learned Spanish before the trip. I meant to write this just after getting home, but my son and I had such a memorable experience here that I still wanted to share it. I highly recommend it, it’s much more than a hotel.

Jonathan and his team were wonderful. We were booked here through our tour package, and the hotel was clean and nice. When we had a problem with one room, they moved us promptly. A few of the rooms are a little small but still adequate. It’s also very close to the main avenue.

The food really hit the spot. The cooks worked hard every day, and you could choose a traditional or American breakfast. They also served soups and other meals, coffee was ready early, and mixed drinks were available until about 10 p.m. I also loved the open-air feel. Coming out of Room #1 and walking down the stairs into the lobby and dining area, with the fresh air around me, was lovely. Our room was more spacious than I expected, with plenty of room for us and our bags. There were lots of American-style electrical plugs, and the roomy bathroom had a great shower. It’s centrally located, with drugstores down the street. Everything in them was labeled in Spanish, and one of the crew kindly offered to go with me. A short walk gets you to the main street, shops, and restaurants, and I felt safe walking there and back. Our group stayed for a week this month, and we were treated like family from the start, looked after and given advice whenever we needed it. I celebrated my birthday there, along with three other guests, and we had a special night with our new friends. We were sad to leave. If you get to stay here, you might be too.

The shared areas are welcoming, but the rooms are tiny and look like they belong in a one-star hotel. Breakfast was very limited. Ask for one extra piece of bread or an egg and they’ll argue about it. I’ve never seen such small portions of ham or cheese. I don’t recommend it.
