The building is old, and the rooms could use better soundproofing. White noise and earplugs helped me sleep a lot. Still, I felt safe staying here alone. The family who run it are very friendly. I had trouble getting cash from the ATMs to pay, and they understood and let me pay later during my stay. My room was cleaned daily and the shower had hot water. It's in a good area near restaurants and the main part of town, and just a 15-minute walk or $2 taxi ride from the airport. I took the taxi.

The room had what I needed, including its own bathroom, a quiet air conditioner and free water. They even included a small vegan breakfast. It's a handy spot, about a 10-minute walk from the airport and a block from the waterfront. There are restaurants with vegan food nearby, and you can watch sea lions, crabs, iguanas and pelicans along the water. A perfect place to stay.

They were happy to fit us in for a last-minute four-night stay, and the staff were courteous and friendly. We had fresh sheets and towels each day, with a refrigerator and filtered water readily available. The price was much better than what other hotels quoted us.
