Hotel Berlín International

I liked the air conditioning, firm comfortable beds, memory foam pillows, big flat TV, and extra mattress beds. The pool and hot tub were nice in the evening because the water was warm. Breakfast was fine, with continental and American options, though I wish they served good coffee instead of instant. The location is perfect, close to the center, beach, and different stores. There are two parts to the hotel: small rooms facing the road that can be noisy, and bigger, more spacious rooms at the back. The hotel was recently built, and my room looked new, with good firm mattresses. It still needs a few things like hangers and places for soap and toothbrushes. The owners seem inexperienced in the hotel business and need to improve their customer service.

The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was included. I got to my room before check-in when my bus arrived at 7 am, and they kindly let me in. The small hotel is on the main street, so it can get noisy. My room was clean, had air conditioning and a TV, and the shower was excellent. I'd stay here again.

The walls are very thin, so you can clearly hear neighbors' TVs, conversations, and bathroom sounds. Bring your own toiletries: there's no conditioner or hair dryer. The towels are very thin, and they gave us three for four people. When we asked for more, they said no. Room service wasn't explained at check-in. They don't have extra or master keys, so you have to hand over your room key to get service. Since we hadn't been told, we didn't get that accommodation. The hotel has Wi-Fi and Netflix, but use is limited, and the TV stopped working around 11:30 pm. That wasn't mentioned beforehand either. At first glance the hotel looks appealing, and the prices are similar to hotels in the States. We paid $540 for two bedrooms and two nights, and expected accommodations to match that price. They didn't.

The hotel was really nice and clean, but the service definitely needs improvement. It was empty when we arrived, yet the manager didn't show us all the room options. There was nothing wrong with our room, but some were nicer, and we'd have liked a chance to choose. My room had no internet signal, so I asked the manager for help. He said they didn't offer INTERNET, and that we needed to tell them in advance to get a connection. I was shocked.
