The only drawback was some nighttime noise. The hotel is on a quiet street but still near a main road, and I’m not sure that’s avoidable in a busy city like Quito. Otherwise, the rooms are large and beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast included eggs, bread, fruit, and good coffee, and there was complimentary water in the room each day. Restaurants, bars, and a market are all within walking distance.

Nydia, the manager, was amazing. When my bags got held up with the airline, she helped sort things out and arranged transportation. I really liked this boutique hotel: the rooms were clean, spacious, and had everything I needed, and breakfast was great. For the price, I couldn’t ask for much more. The area is busy, with lots of bars and restaurants you can walk to. As in most big cities, I’d be cautious walking around at night, especially alone, since pickpockets come looking for people who’ve been drinking. I had no problems myself and used a bit of common sense.

The included breakfast was the best part: hot, fresh bread, eggs that were perfectly salted and buttery, coffee, juice, and fresh fruit. The owners and staff were kind and sweet. Our bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable, and the shower was great, with small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body lotion provided. Wi-Fi was fast and reached well. The noon checkout was nice, and codes for the main gate, building, and room made it feel safe while keeping access easy. You can check yourself in, and bag storage is complimentary when needed. It’s also an official Ecuador Hop pickup point, so guests get door-to-door tour drop-off. Tarzan, a phenomenal and affordable “Tex-Mez” restaurant, is about four blocks away.

We stayed at dolce lobo for two nights and would definitely recommend it. We got a special rate of 34 a night. The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful and spacious, with a couch, desk, roomy wardrobe, and everything else you might want. Breakfast was brought to the room, there was daily room service, and the staff were very nice. A couple of things: the water in our room didn’t get hot, though we take cold showers anyway, and I think it may have been temporary. The juice at breakfast was nice, but there wasn’t much variety. You can ask for extra butter if you like, and they serve lots of coffee. Thanks, dolce lobo team!

The rooms were clean and roomy, and the cappuccinos were the best! This was my first stay in Quito. Everyone on staff was gracious and helpful, and the service was wonderful.
