Hampton By Hilton Quito La Carolina Park

I stayed at the Hampton Hilton Quito La Carolina Park last month with my family, and it left us with warm memories. The affordable price didn’t mean low quality: the rooms and service were excellent. The atmosphere felt warm and full of feeling. Staff responded to guest problems quickly and professionally. The place was lively and welcoming without feeling overwhelming. A memorable stay, with very good service and a lovely atmosphere.

We had a comfortable room with good beds and pillows, and the shower pressure was excellent. They can provide an iron and ironing board, and there’s a small gym that’s enough to keep up with your workouts. Breakfast is filling, the service is top-notch, and the views are lovely. The location is excellent and the price reasonable. I’d recommend it.

For a budget stay, this place is fine, though it isn’t a luxury hotel. The rooms were clean but small, and one day housekeeping forgot to clean ours. Breakfast was included and good. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the metro, which is doable. Restaurants, bars, a mall, pharmacies, and a supermarket are all within walking distance. Some tour companies wouldn’t pick us up because the hotel is far from the historic center, though I did find a few that would. Since Quito has only one metro line, you’ll likely need a cab or Uber at some point anyway. Renting a car might work better. There’s free parking at the hotel.

The room issue at check-in was frustrating, especially since we chose the hotel for the high room with a view that we’d requested and been promised a month earlier. The desk attendant wouldn’t acknowledge that assurance, said it wasn’t guaranteed, and didn’t admit the mistake or apologize. The next morning, though, Marco offered to move us and Milton showed us the available options. They were both smiling, personable, and helpful, and really rescued the trip. Luis from housekeeping was also SO FRIENDLY and accommodating. A soccer team staying on several floors tended to take over the elevator, and the toilet paper was low quality, if you know what I mean. Still, we had a very pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, the staff were lovely aside from that one desk attendant, and we’ll be back. The views are incredible, and the staff generally go out of their way to help. We LOVED the place.
