The hotel is just about a two-minute walk from San Francisco square, and breakfast was simple but tasty. It changed each day, usually a freshly cooked egg with some kind of bread or pastry, which was just right to start the day. The coffee was outstanding, better than any U.S. coffee shop I’ve tried, and worth a big Starbucks price. It’s a charming, inexpensive place with very nice, helpful staff. The rooms are basic but have what you need, including a private bathroom. The shower had hot water and a cute little skylight. The room was a bit cold, but the weighted blanket kept me cozy at night. One thing to know: getting to the second-floor room can be difficult. The staircase is narrow and winding, and could be unsafe for some. I have vertigo, so I took it slowly and held the railing firmly. There is a nice little view from upstairs, though.

The people working here were the highlight, so kind and helpful. It’s a lovely little hotel with a great view from the top terrace. Breakfast was very good too. I’d happily stay again.

I felt safe and at ease here as a solo traveler, and the location made it easy to explore the city on foot. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. My room was spotless and everything worked as it should. It’s a cozy, welcoming hotel with good value for the price. Having a nice TV with Netflix was a real bonus and helped me through the jet lag.

The owner personally drove us to the airport when taxis around town were overwhelmed by an event. The staff were kind, and the included breakfast was great. The hotel was very clean and ideally located in Quito’s historic center, with lovely city views from the top balcony. I’d highly recommend it.

We liked our stay and ended up spending five nights here because it felt safe and comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helped us with everything. Breakfast was good, and the location is hard to beat. The showers need a little figuring out, but they work fine and the water is warm.
