Hotel Margarita Inn Alameda

The price and proximity to the city center were okay, and the staff seemed to try, though they weren’t exactly motivated. But there were several problems. We arranged an airport pickup through the hotel, yet nobody was waiting at the exit when we arrived, so we had to figure out how to get there ourselves. They apologized for the misunderstanding, but we should be able to rely on an arrangement like that. Our first room was dirty and cold, with a slight musty smell. After a city tour, we came back to find all our belongings gone and other people’s backpacks in the room. They had moved us without telling us. The replacement room was a little warmer and didn’t smell musty. The Wi-Fi was unreliable until we changed the access four times. We stayed four nights, and although they “cleaned” the room each day, we had to ask for fresh towels every day because they took the used ones and didn’t leave replacements. No go!
