Right in Quito's beautiful historic centre, the Grand Hotel was more than I expected. The staff are kind and helpful, and since the family has run the hotel for many centuries, it has a warm, familiar feel. It's clean and quiet, and the price is very reasonable. I totally recommend staying here in the lovely historic centre.

The managers were helpful and respectful, and the area around the hotel felt safe. It's also cheaper, and being near downtown made it easy to explore on foot. The one thing I didn't like was having to hand my room key to the administrative staff every time I went out. I understand they want to keep people from losing it, but all our personal things are in the room.

La Ronda is just around the corner, with lovely streets for a stroll, a coffee, or reasonably priced artisan goods. The rooms were clean, the WiFi was fast, and the staff were helpful and spoke English. :)

The owners made me feel at home during my eight-day stay at the Grand Hotel in Quito. Its location in the historic city center is convenient, and the rooms were super clean. Most of Quito's main tourist attractions are within walking distance.

The location is great, and the rooms are just passable for a night if everywhere else is full. The bathroom ceiling was completely covered in mildew, and the shower head was rusty. See the photos I uploaded.
