We were fine sitting outside, but the people at the table nearer the ocean had to move. The sea view was okay, with waves crashing against the rocks. I can’t speak to the hotel’s other facilities, but after this experience I’ll never come back to try them. Over half our party suffered from food poisoning afterward, and the wait service was very poor, below what I’d expect in this area or anywhere. When the waiter wrote our order down wrong and brought one incorrect meal, he argued with us. This was the opposite of the good place to eat in San Jacinto that we’d hoped for.

After five years away, I was eager to try the delicious shrimp burst at the Hotel San Jacinto again. We also had ceviches during lunch, and the prices were very affordable at $3.50, if I remember correctly. I recommend the à la carte dishes. The service was friendly and fast, and the view is beautiful. Recommended!

The restaurant was a real highlight: tasty food, a wonderful atmosphere, beach views, and even a little lookout. The place isn’t expensive, and they really care about biosecurity. The rooms were a different story, though. They’re too dark, there aren’t many windows, and the lights don’t work well. They offered a fan, which was good. The TV and remote only worked sometimes, and I couldn’t change the channels, though I don’t know which one was the problem.

I’m leaving this “hotel” right now and will finish my vacation using the Airbnb App. The customer service was deplorable, with a truly bad attitude: nobody greeted me during my entire stay, nobody asked what I wanted for breakfast, and when I nearly had an anaphylactic shock after eating something I’m allergic to, nobody apologized. The beds were such poor quality that I woke up with a terrible backache. There were cockroaches in the kitchen and rooms, and mosquitoes stung me repeatedly. The pool had so many dirty bubbles that even a large dose of chlorine couldn’t clean it. Breakfast was poor too. Hotel guests got small portions that were badly cooked, while the “dine in” breakfast for people paying separately was a little better. I could have put up with all that, but not the customer service. This is by far the worst resort I’ve stayed at. I totally don’t recommend it.

The restaurant is right on the ocean, a lovely setting that makes up for the wait, which can take a while. There’s a huge menu, the food is tasty, and the service is friendly.
