The breakfast was really good, and they’ll pack it for you if you have an early flight. The rooms are super clean, the price is very low, and it’s close to the airport. A taxi might take 5-10 minutes to arrive, but there’s no reason to pay more: you can get here from the airport for $3, so say no if they quote you $6-10. You can also catch the green bus to the airport by going out the back and crossing the road, or using the walkway overhead. There are at least three restaurants and two convenience stores within walking distance.

After booking two nights and getting a confirmation number, I arrived to find the hotel locked up and empty. It’s down a dirt road covered in grass, off the paved road.

I only booked one night, but the rooms were dirty. There was hair and blood on the sheets and pillowcases, the lighting was very dim, and the beds were uncomfortable.

I arrived at 1 a.m. and discovered this was a private house, not a hotel. It’s actually a homestay, something Booking.com hadn’t made clear. Before I got there, communication was nonexistent, and nobody emailed to say they only take cash. The property is right beside a very busy highway. Leaving for the airport at 6 a.m. turned into a really stressful and unsafe situation. If I’d known what to expect, I’d rather have slept on an airport bench.

The hosts were extremely friendly and kind, and I’m grateful for their hospitality 🙏. It’s a distinctive place and worked perfectly for me, especially with its convenient location for getting to the airport.
