Hostal El Parque

The bed itself was comfortable, but every small shift made it creak loudly. I toss and turn a lot, so it kept waking me through the night. The shower pressure and temperature were great, but exposed wires ran to the shower head, held with electrical tape and no visible connectors. It made us uneasy, so we kept our showers very short. I wish I’d taken pictures. The property is lovely, with lots of plants, flowers, and visiting birds. It’s in a quiet neighborhood about 15 minutes from the airport, and the taxi they arranged cost around $8. Staff were very nice and managed a suitable breakfast for us as vegans. There was no plant-based milk, but I expected that. The room was clean and large enough, and the temperature was comfortable even though I didn’t notice a thermostat. I booked through booking.com and thought I’d got a great price, but it turned out I’d paid for one person rather than two, so the price doubled. I wanted to give three stars, but the location, service, and beauty of the property count for a lot.

A quiet place not far from the airport, with a pleasant and cordial service, the kind of warmth you often find in Latin America. A taxi to the airport costs 7USD. It’s a good option if you need a transfer soon.

The garden is lovely, with covered spots where you can sit. Staff were sweet and hardworking. It was a comfortable, friendly stay near the Quito airport. Our room was spacious and very clean, and they serve breakfast early if you need it.

The hostel made us comfortable even though we arrived at the airport quite late. The staff looked after us before locking up for the night. There are several beds in each room, and the rooms share a bathroom. I liked the artwork in the common area, which gives visitors a feel for local culture. The neighborhood was quiet, and the breakfast was great. The food and juice were freshly made. This was a lovely first night in Ecuador, with great hospitality. Thanks to the staff for letting me stay a night. I hope to visit again.
