I enjoyed watching the monkeys, though I’m going to see their parents tomorrow. There’s also a river, an organic garden, and an Amazon-style place with baby monkeys, their mother, snakes, and reptiles. I heard some were lost when a storm made the river rise over its banks, so it may not be as good as it used to be. Restaurants, an ice cream shop, a post office, Center Paper Store, and a pharmacy are all within three blocks.

The construction noise started just after 7 a.m., with jackhammers right beside my room, and they hadn’t mentioned the work beforehand. Getting anyone from the staff to come to reception meant guests had to shout for them. The reception also had a strong sweaty-men smell that lingered all day. And the phone price wasn’t honored, they asked for $1 more per night.

The customer service was excellent, and the hotel was clean and nice. The TV channels didn’t work, though, and the Wi-Fi was a little slow.
