I spent a month at this lovely place, with its beautiful patio and garden. The staff and management were extremely helpful and friendly, and the rates were very reasonable. They serve great breakfasts all day. I was told pancakes, fruit, herb and vegetable smoothies, milkshakes, and more are now available all day too. I live in Vilcabamba now, and still visit because the food is really good and it’s a wonderful place to relax and hang out.

I didn't stay here, but eating at the restaurant was disappointing. Most of the menu wasn’t available, and the small selection was mostly Mexican food. I ordered a burrito, but the meat was overcooked, tough, gristly, and bland. Prices are very high by local standards. The guacamole was good, though expensive. There are plenty of better places to eat in town.

The bathroom had a pungent smell coming from the ceiling, which was covered in black mold. The staff were very rude and made no effort to help or explain when kicking guests out. Hostal Jardín also has strict house rules that restrict guests, such as not allowing visitors in rooms “after the sun has set (...)”. Other than being near the main square, it doesn’t offer much to set it apart from the other hostels in Vilcabamba. I do not recommend it.

The inside garden is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy, and the hostel is tastefully decorated. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely garden, and everything is within walking distance from this great location. The small pool has cool water, and the rooms and bathrooms are nicely updated.
