What we appreciated most was how quiet it was around the clean, pleasant cottages. It feels better suited to people who enjoy nature than anyone after a luxury stay. If you can, spend a little more for a cottage with its own bathroom.

The place was good value for money, and the owners were friendly, down to earth people.

The atmosphere was lovely, and the WiFi worked much better on the bench outside than inside the house, where coverage was just borderline. We were given a larger house when we arrived because the campsites were busy and the host wanted to spread people out for everyone's comfort. They didn't charge us extra. The house had a decent shower and toilet with underfloor heating, plus a new fridge and the kitchen basics: dishes, a kettle, and a microwave. There's an outdoor grill, but bring your own charcoal. A fan would've helped move the air on a hot day, though luckily it never got very hot. It was a very nice stay.
