The only things I found worth mentioning were the low price, free WiFi, clean sheets, a TV in the room, and helpful staff despite the language gap. The staff spoke fluent Russian. I stayed three nights, and honestly would choose a night in jail over coming back. Some problems could be fixed by staff or management, but others seem beyond repair. The kitchen was dirty and mouldy. For cooking, there were only utensils, a large pot, and a cast-iron frying pan. The men's toilets had no soap or towels. One had vomit on the floor and walls that wasn't cleaned during my stay, and the other had a stall sealed off and poor lighting. The place wasn't wheelchair accessible. The smells varied by area: strong perfume in the room, something foul in the stairway, and old cheese in the corridors. Outside, it smelled of chemicals, probably burning rubber, so keep the windows closed. The nearby factory and industrial area were all we could see from the room, along with a gas station. The place isn't soundproof, and communication was difficult because staff, bus drivers, cashiers, and others spoke little English. If you don't know Russian or Estonian, you'll end up relying on Google Translate and gestures. The room furniture was dirty and dented. The daytime curtains couldn't be moved and had holes and stains, while the blackout curtains were broken. There was a spider in the room, but it didn't look poisonous or aggressive, and I'm fine with spiders. The TV was an 8-inch CRT mounted above the door.

We booked the sauna with whirlpool, but canceled it. The whirlpool had a permanent yellow color and looked dirty, and its water nozzles didn't seem secure, so be careful. With the centralized boiler, the hot water temperature kept changing and the water was always rusty. The sauna room itself was okay, with a small cube TV and a kettle, and the sauna was around 70-80C. I'd rather pay a bit more to relax at a spa.

The price didn't match the quality. We'd booked a week ahead, but our reservation had been "lost." The furniture was chipped or broken, and the bed linen was dirty. The public kitchen had no pots, dishes, cups, or cutlery. Its fridge was filthy and smelly, and the electric stove was broken, so making a meal there wasn't possible. When I asked reception for cookware, they said it had all been stolen. The hostel is in an industrial area, about 15 km from central Tallin.

Very basic, and noisy from other guests even in the middle of the night.
