Paide Homestay

Hello, we’re bringing goods from Turkey to your city by truck and won’t be staying overnight. We just need to use the shower. Could you reply here and let us know the price for four people?

The location is really beautiful, so I can give it five stars for that, but I can't recommend this place based on my stay. I won't go back, and next time I'd rather sleep in my car, which is cheaper. I've taken many work trips and stayed in all sorts of holiday accommodation, but nothing has been as awful as Paide Homstey. My coworker and I needed a place for a business trip, and Paide Homestay caught my eye. We called and were told to come in the evening. When we arrived after work, another family, who were foreigners, was already there. The landlady said they were nice and friendly, but the accommodation was split between two buildings. Building A had the kitchen, toilet, shower room, and one bedroom. Building B had sleeping spaces and a TV with only free channels. The other family was staying in Building A, where all the facilities were. The landlady told us we could wash up and use the kitchen and toilet, but that turned out not to be true in practice. When my coworker said he was going to wash his hands, the father from the other family followed him and watched him do it. I found that unacceptable and gave up on using the shared facilities. I don't want a strange man watching me while I shower, make something in the communal kitchen, or use the toilet. The next day we bought a kettle so we could make coffee in the morning, and we had to buy water because we couldn't get any from the other house. We paid 180 euros for 3 nights, but all we really got was a bed. We couldn't use the toilet and had to walk a few hundred meters to a plastic dry toilet by the lake. We had no toilet at work either until the evening of the fourth day, when I drove back to southern Estonia and could finally wash at home. We didn't get what we paid for, just a pointless place with no usable facilities.

The sauna was comfortable, and being close to the park area was handy. Still, the place feels dated, and the price seemed high for the quality. We did stay the night.

The place itself was beautiful, but the hostess was so unfriendly that I didn't enjoy the visit. I doubt I'll go back.
