The gardens, ponds, and paths are kept lovely, and the whole place feels peaceful, surrounded by nature. Palmse Manor and Open-Air Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into Estonia’s noble past. The main manor building is having exterior work done right now, so there may be some construction noise, though it didn't affect our visit much. Still a wonderful place to explore.

Palmse manor itself was closed for reconstruction, though the information point was open. A nice lady there told us about another manor with a restaurant, supposedly about 8 Kilometers away. It turned out to be more like 20 Kilometers, and the building was totally run down. The restaurant was a kiosk, and it was closed. I'm sure Palmse manor is quite lovely, but that autumn day turned into a rather adventurous experience.

The gardens and lake were magical, and the reconstruction of the era was lovely. A really beautiful way to get a glimpse of the past. We totally recommend it!

We had a peaceful morning here and ate a picnic by the lake. We took the blue trail, which wasn't too difficult, and had some good family time.

There are room descriptions throughout, with details about what each space was used for and what life was like back then. The libraries have a wide selection of books from across Europe. The interior is mostly original, renovated and arranged very well, in a beautiful manor set in a fantastic park. Really interesting, and I strongly recommend it.
