It’s a simple place in a really old traditional house, but the renovated rooms feel cozy. There’s also a little sitting area in the garden, plus a microwave and kettle. Tea and coffee are free.

It’s very clean, with spotless beds and no unpleasant smells. The house has a lovely mix of hostel and guesthouse, and feels partly like a family home rather than a business. The colors are beautiful, and the architecture and patina are outstanding. I paid about 24€ a night for a medium-sized room with two beds. There’s a shared fridge and microwave, but don’t expect a reception desk. Just call if you have questions. It’s very close to the historic downtown, if not quite part of it. A small letter-sized notice is about all the ID you get, which adds to the informal feel. The owner and administrator are open and easygoing.

The room was huge and very clean, with an old-fashioned, authentic interior we really liked. The owner was helpful and very synaptic. If you prefer a local place over an anonymous big hotel, this is a good choice. We hope to come back.

Everything is close by, including the beach and town center. The historic surroundings are beautiful, and the new art museum is right next door. A little heaven!
