LENA K.
We stayed at Nurmeveski as a base for Pärnu and the surrounding area, and it was easy to add to a Tallinn trip. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and everything we needed was there. The bathroom was shared, but I never had to wait; it was spotless every time, with a hot shower and good water pressure. I loved reading on the couches in the sunny rooms and wandering barefoot to the outdoor benches among the flowers. The family hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. Their warmth made this one of the most relaxing and beautiful parts of my Estonia trip. Swimming in the river and then having a sauna was perfection. We also took the little yellow rowboat up the river in the sunshine and spotted a deer, ducklings, and sheep. Keep an eye out for beavers too. Ping pong was fun, as was trying their small-batch wine and cider made from apples or rhubarb grown on the property. Breakfast was homemade and delicious, especially the pancakes with homemade strawberry jam. I appreciated the green touches, including solar panels, outdoor furniture made from reclaimed carved wood, and homegrown breakfast ingredients. By chance I was there when the yearly rhubarb crop was ready, and they let me watch the cider preparation. It was a rare, lovely moment with three generations working together. The old mill ruins are well preserved and interesting. If you're curious, the hosts have stories and photos about the history of the buildings. I also loved the large throne-like chair and benches made by the host's father. It's lovely seeing a family business like this. We drove about ten minutes to Pärnu beach to swim in the sea and sunbathe. It's a great beach. We had lunch on the patio at a nearby pizza restaurant, walked around the city, and a spa visit could be nice too, since there are many to choose from. Check for festivals, especially in summer. About thirty minutes from Nurmeveski, we also visited a quiet nature reserve bog, walked its boardwalks, took in the view from an observation tower, and ate wild blueberries. Swimming there was lovely, a very Estonian experience, and completely peaceful. I had such a magical time here and would love to return. Next time I want to try the barbecue area and football pitch because my boyfriend loves football, and swim in the river every morning. Thanks to the whole family: Marje, Jaak, Peeter, Kaili, Priit & Sirje, for such a special visit.

A comfortable stay with a wonderful hostess. The rooms don't have ventilation, though you can open a window, and the staircase has low clearance, so watch your head if you're over 180 cm.

A nice Estonian place, and a welcoming spot to stay while enjoying Pärnu beach ☉. I just love Estonians 💗.
