I got off at the wrong stop in Tallinn because my eSIM and backup data both failed, so I had no GPS. I ended up walking to the bus station to get my bearings after taking Bus No. 2. Download offline maps before you go, don't rely on mobile data alone.
There are a couple of basic places inside where you can get food, but don't expect much from them. Getting there by car is easy, and there are plenty of road and street improvements around. The walk for pedestrians is trickier, especially if you're moving luggage.
It's a small but tidy, well-organized bus station, with lots of seating, a cafe and a convenience store. From here, different bus companies go to cities across Europe. The toilets are clean and nice, though using them costs 0.50 euros.
For route 1234 from Tallinn to Riga on August 30, 2024, we had seats 3A, 3B, 3C and 3D reserved. Once we boarded, they moved us to other, worse seats: 6A and 6B by the toilet, plus 15A and 15B.
The driver may sell you a ticket for more, but only if there's a seat available. The ticket office isn't staffed and closes early, and without a European card you can't buy a ticket.
