Hestia Hotel Seaport

Right by the port and ferry, the location is convenient, and the rooms were clean, if very basic. The price compared with the quality was very good. It was one of the cheapest hotels in Tallinn, and you could tell from the number of drunk people, the smell in the escalator, and empty vodka bottles in corridor bins. Breakfast wasn’t for us, though I guess tastes vary by nationality and culture, and some people might really like it. The biggest problem was the noise. The rooms have very poor sound insulation, so you constantly hear people moving chairs or beds. We wouldn’t come back because of that. Still, for anyone looking to save money and wanting a clean, modern, minimalist place, the price is very good.

The location worked really well for arriving by ferry from Helsinki, and buses into central Tallinn are close by. Reception were attentive, including a staff member who'd only been there a month and sorted out my request to pay with another card. The room was very good, though its old-fashioned style shows its age without causing any actual problems. Breakfast was brilliant, except the orange juice tasted a bit weak. I'd consider staying again if I return to Tallinn. A good advert for Estonia.

The area is quiet at night, which I liked, and the hotel is near the seaport. It's not close to the city centre, but Bolt makes the trip quick. Rooms and service were okay; breakfast was below par.

The bed was much too soft, and every footstep from the neighbours came through as a loud bang. Early ferry traffic meant people rushing around between 5 and 7 in the morning, so I won't stay here again. The positives were the handy location, clean rooms, pleasant staff and good breakfast.
