Humala Guest House

We slept really well. The balcony, windows, and entrance door all felt secure, and the area was so quiet that with the windows open we couldn’t hear the nearby road. Check-in was self service and easy with the code we’d been given, though it was strange not to see anyone else around in such a large guest house. The room had enough space for both of us, a comfortable bed, and a nice bathroom with a strong shower. We enjoyed the balcony and the location, especially since we needed the bus stop the next day.

A good deal for the price. The room is decent and does what you need, and both the Wi-Fi and bathroom were perfectly okay. The owner is really friendly and helps with whatever you need for a pleasant stay. There’s a bus stop nearby with lots of routes into the city.

The room smelled strange, and I woke in the middle of the night because bedbugs were biting me. The curtains and carpet smelled bad too, and the towel had an odd smell and wasn’t white. Even cheap hotels usually have white towels. At check-in, keys are left lined up on the counter, so anyone with the building entry code could take a key and go into any room. This place should be investigated and fully fumigated for pests. I’m planning to take the matter to the Ministry of Health. A hotel shouldn’t let people sleep there with bedbugs.

Getting the entrance code was delayed, which made check-in inconvenient. The room was poorly furnished, with a bad sofa and a smelly carpet. During my five-night stay I found an injector on the floor, and the bathroom ceiling collapsed. When I raised these problems with the owner, she just said sorry, that’s how it is, and told me to find somewhere else if I wasn’t happy. This was at 10 p.m., after I’d returned from work. The place may look okay at first, but my stay was a disaster. Even on a low budget, consider other options.
