Lillekula Hotel

We expected a clean room and basic hospitality, not luxury. Instead, this was one of our most upsetting and disappointing stays, and we felt like an inconvenience. There was thick dust in the corners and under the bed. The fridge was moldy, smelled awful, and was so disgusting that we couldn't use it. Even opening it made us feel sick, and it seemed like a health hazard. When we told the woman at reception, she just said “sorry” and offered the staff fridge, as if that fixed anything. She noted our room number and said she'd tell her boss, but nothing seemed to happen. At 10 AM the next morning, reception was still closed. We called the number on the door, and the man who answered was rude, apparently hadn't been told about the issue, and made no effort to help. It felt like they didn't care once they'd taken our money. I strongly advise people to stay somewhere else until this property takes cleanliness, safety, and guest service seriously.

We were only there for one night, arriving very late, so we just had to sleep there. The room was awful, more like a zero-star hotel than the two stars they claim, and the prices in Tallinn aren't even among the cheapest. It was cold, but the room for four had only one power socket, which we needed for the heater. The two beds took up about 85% of the tiny room. There was hair on the floor and in the bedding.

I travel around the world for work, and this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I can barely call it a hotel. The staff were rude, and none of them spoke English. I booked three nights. The booking app said checkout was at 2 pm, but at 11:50 the housemaids knocked very aggressively and shouted “check-out, check-out.” After the first night, I asked for clean towels. The owner said he uses two towels for a week. You can see the towels in the photos I posted, and I think they were washed without detergent. The shower is also shown in the photos, with tape on it. The parking isn't secure, and there's only one light. The stairs are unlit at night, and in the room there was just one bulb, barely enough to see. I definitely don't recommend this hotel. I'll let the photos speak for me. I also filed a complaint on the booking app.

For a night or two, it's fairly okay. The location is good, it's affordable, and it wasn't all that terrible. The mattresses were comfortable, and the shower and toilet were actually not bad. Still, you can find better hotels in Tallinn for this price, or even less.
