The Old Bishop cancelled my reservation at the last minute and gave no explanation or apology. If I cancel, the booking is non-refundable, yet they could cancel on short notice without consequences when someone else was willing to pay more. A horrible experience.

The place feels old and damp, almost like a cave, and the room is cramped. The shower area and toilet are especially narrow, and it seemed like a good place for bugs to live. It felt like a bed had simply been put in a warehouse, and I slept badly. I wouldn't stay here again.

The old town is beautiful, and it takes only 10/15 minutes to walk to the ferry to Helsinki (£26 return in November 2919). My room was lovely, with a bed, bedside table, armchair, desk and fridge, plus a separate shower and toilet. It sits right in the heart of the old town, tucked off the street through a small vennel/close and courtyard, so it was quiet. I felt very safe there as a solo female traveler. I'm leaving tomorrow after three nights booked through AirBnB, and Lauri, the owner, even picked me up from the airport and took me back. It's easy to see why he's a super host.

The hosts were nice, and the location in Old Town was great. There was plenty of space, and the inside felt unique, though you do have to climb steep stone spiral stairs.
