Getting around inside can be a little confusing, and the stairs are steep with no elevator. The breakfast was disappointing too, with slimy porridge and no real food, though it works fine for a weekend. It's a cozy, pleasant hotel right in the central Old Town, near the main street Pikk. The interior feels warm and vintage, the rooms are okay, and the staff are happy to help.

The towels and sheets were very clean, but the floors needed better cleaning and there was dust. That's why I'd give it four stars instead of five. The hotel is very central in the old city, serves a good Estonian breakfast, and the restaurant food was very well cooked for a great price. The staff were polite and helpful, which I wasn't used to in former Soviet-block countries.

Breakfast was very limited, with no fruit or vegetables. The coffee was okay, but came from a machine that took two minutes per person to prepare. The kids wouldn't drink the cherry juice. Staff were mostly polite, though quiet. We stayed one night in Tallinn. Our family suite had plenty of space for two adults and three children. The other room we had was a single in the basement with no windows.

Our family room was great, with a lounge and a shower plus a separate shower. It had two bedrooms, one with a 120 cm bed and the other with a king-size 180 cm bed. Breakfast was okay. The woman at reception could have been a bit more welcoming, but all in all it was a great stay.

The historic building has no elevator and lots of ladder-like stairs, though the staff were helpful with bags. There's no kettle in the room, but the receptionist will happily give you boiling water if you need it. Dogs are allowed for an extra fee. The staff are great, the price affordable, and the interior atmospheric with a terrific view. Breakfast is included and good quality. Keep in mind there's no parking, and you can stop for 15 minutes. Staying longer brings a 31 euro fine.
