Alexander the Great Hotel - Alexotel

The morning construction at the church next door made some noise and was a bit disturbing, though it thankfully didn't ruin the stay. The hotel is right in downtown Alexandria, which made it easy to get around and enjoy the city. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and the staff were kind, helpful, and welcoming. It was comfortable and good value for money, so despite the morning noise, I had a pleasant stay.

The apartment was in a separate building, not inside Alexander The Great Hotel, and there was no security, reception, or even a doorman. The furniture was old, and it looked nothing like the photos. I arrived and was shocked. Since the booking was non-refundable, I had mistakenly thought I was dealing directly with Booking.com. I didn't check in and asked the hotel for my money back, but they told me to contact Booking.com and wouldn't help. I left and lost my money. Worst experience ever, I don't recommend non-refundable bookings.

Clean and nice, and the price was economical. The staff were friendly, though the location could be better. It's not really somewhere to spend much time in the room. I'd stay here again if I visit Alexandria.

Breakfast was delicious and filling, with an omelet, fruit, cheese, vegetables, juice, and different kinds of bread. Mr. Mina was happy to answer my questions, and I'm glad I picked this hotel. The room was really a spacious apartment, with a lounge, a big bedroom, and a bathroom. The bed was huge and comfortable, the two air conditioners kept the temperature where I wanted it, and the internet was fast enough to work remotely. It was also very quiet. I arrived two hours before check-in and got a room without any trouble. Finding the hotel took a little effort, but at the desk Mr. Mina gave me a warm welcome and offered an upgrade from the hotel I'd booked. Thank you for a lovely stay!
