Sea View Hotel Elagamy

The one convenient thing was direct access to the beach. The rest of our stay was a letdown. There was dust and neglect throughout, exposed electrical wiring in the ceilings, no air conditioning in the lobby, and Wi-Fi only in that area. The lobby, rooms, and other facilities were all below expectations. It was clear renovations were still going on, and those should have been finished before guests were let in. Based on our experience, I’d look elsewhere for a vacation stay.

Apart from the sea view, everything was bad. I stayed three days, and the place was so dirty that there was no cleaning at all. The staff didn’t seem qualified to manage a place like this. I asked for towels and got no response for two days, not even a simple apology. I wonder why the tourism authority leaves such a beautiful hotel without monitoring or visiting.

The beach was dirty, the garage wasn’t working, and the roads leading in were terrible, with unreliable parking. Inside, the elevators were in deplorable condition, and the reception and room furniture and decor were dilapidated. Staff showed no professionalism, room service was almost nonexistent, and even the restaurant food wasn’t good. Shisha near the restaurant made the smell there completely unacceptable. The pool was tiny for the number of guests, especially with day users too. The place fell well short of what I expected.

The location was good and the service okay, but the rooms were old. I thought the reviews were just people being negative, then found they were telling the truth, so don’t ignore them just because you’re set on staying here like I was. For tourists and foreigners, there weren’t any other foreigners at this hotel, and I’d take my money elsewhere. It’s also nicknamed the police hotel, which might suggest who stays there 👍
