At around 11:45 PM on 24 January 2026, I contacted reception because the AC remote hadn’t worked for over THREE HOURS. The receptionist on duty, Mohamed, spoke loudly and disrespectfully, with none of the manners or customer service a hotel should have. He was rude and arrogant, and lectured me that it was winter and asked why I needed AC, as though he could decide how I use a room I paid for. It sounded more like a fish market argument than a front desk conversation. That response was sarcastic and childish, and completely unacceptable. The incident shows weak management and a lack of staff training. The front desk represents a hotel, and this one is an embarrassment. I’m seriously considering filing a complaint with the Tourist Police to find out how this place is licensed for hospitality. This was one of my worst hotel experiences in Alexandria, and among the worst anywhere. Strongly NOT recommended. Save your money and nerves.

The room was tiny, filthy, and had old, broken furniture. The bathroom was dirty and smelled disgusting. We couldn’t stay even a minute and went to find another hotel. The whole place was awful, with no sense of hygiene. By far the worst hotel in Alexandria. If I could give it no stars, I wouldn’t hesitate. Avoid it at all costs.

The sea view is lovely, but the traffic and honking go on 24/7. It’s an old building with little renovation, and the bathroom is the worst part.

It’s an old hotel that needs major renovations. The view is nice, and the price seems okay for somewhere right by the sea and in the heart of Mahtet el raml. It could work if you’re on a modest budget.
