The view through the huge glass windows in the shared areas is pure Nile magic. The whole place is soothing, even on the budget. Mr. Mahmoud and all the aides were genuinely caring, with none of the plastic smiles you sometimes get elsewhere. The boat for trips around the island was well maintained and very affordable. It’s parked somewhere quiet, away from busy Aswan, and I found it ideal for meditation. On moonless nights you can get a good look at the Galaxy. Everything was clean enough to walk barefoot. The rooms were bright and airy, with grey blackout curtains for anyone who wants total darkness. There are adjustable bedside lamps for reading or romance. Chapeau to the people who designed and maintain the place. I guess this is the core spirit of Nubia and Aswan.

We were a family of four and booked two rooms. The warm welcome made the place feel like home, and the staff were always smiling, kind, and ready to help. You can feel how much care they put into the service. Breakfast costs extra per person. I’d recommend having it on the boat instead of at outside places. We spent one day sick in bed, and the staff kept bringing tea and checking in on us. Mahmoud even went to the pharmacy to get medication. That care meant a lot and is rare to find. Every morning there was a fresh, delicious breakfast, made with real attention. The calm setting on Elephantine Island and the beautiful Nile views made it easy to unwind. From the start, the staff were lovely, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Mahmoud was especially warm and genuine. He looked after us so well that we felt at home instead of like guests. Anakob Houseboat felt like coming home, and we enjoyed every moment. We’ll definitely return 🤍

The adults-only setting made it wonderfully quiet, with just the Nile and nature around us. The staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived, and can help arrange trips around Aswan if you ask. The hotel is on the island’s western side, facing the Aswan Botanical Garden. Nile views stretch from the rooms up to the rooftop, and waking up to that scenery was a special experience. It felt calm and relaxing at any time of day.
