The price is hard to beat, especially since breakfast and dinner come with the room and towels are provided for free. I found the bed really cosy, almost like having a little den, and the staff were super friendly. They also have tours and transport options, though I didn't get a chance to try them. Wish I could've stayed longer. Brilliant place!

The room was good value, and the toilets and kitchens were great. The bed wasn't the most comfortable I've slept in, but switching the foot end and head end around on my last night helped a lot. Breakfast and dinner were simple but good, though you need to request dinner in advance. There was a maid around most mornings, and the reception team, including two women who were there most days, were kind and stepped in when David wasn't available. They'd ask on your behalf if you needed something. David was helpful with tips about Aswan and never pressured me to book anything through him. He does offer good value if you want to. For getting into town, the microbus is 5egp one way, though the guesthouse isn't near the centre. A cab might run 50-100 one way. David arranged a cab at his cost once during my stay, and having it booked when I first arrived in Aswan was really helpful. My room was near the street, so there was a lot of noise, often until 3am every night. I'm a night owl, so it didn't bother me much. If it does bother you, talk to David and his team, who'll gladly help. They also kept my bags for free while I went out on my last day rather than book another night, since my train was at 9pm. That gave me time to see Aswans west coast. It was a pleasure staying here. Give respect and you'll get it back. Thank you.

I felt discriminated against in my own country during what was supposed to be a relaxing yearly trip. I arrived around 11:30 pm and spoke to David for only 10 minutes, but most of what he said was about “the foreigners.” He told me they were asleep and not to make noise, and that they woke up early. When I asked about the smoking rules, he kept insisting I had to smoke on the balcony because the foreigners were complaining. Was I treated this way because I speak Arabic? I can write in English too, so I can tell people about this bad experience. The bed mattress was terrible, the room was dusty, and the balcony was shut and couldn't be opened. I paid for 4 days, but got up early and moved straight to another real hotel. This place felt like a shameful student dormitory or boarding house, not somewhere to relax, and I didn't want to spend my trip taking orders like I was with my father. I also checked how he responds to angry customers, and in his written comments he attacked them aggressively and was very, very rude.

The room felt old fashioned, the AC was really dusty, and the fan made a lot of noise. There wasn't any hot water. After I reported it, the owner asked me to wait 10 minutes. I waited longer and it was still cold. Replies were slow, and they got my bus ticket to Hurghada completely wrong. It should've been 1,500 EGP, but they charged me 2,500. A small markup for helping would've made sense, but that was insane. He tried to be nice by driving me to the bus station and buying me a drink, but it all felt fake. Even from my first message after booking, I had a sense they weren't sincere. Stay here at your own risk. Sorry David!
