The food was great, but the senior staff weren’t very helpful. Booking an activity or arranging transportation didn’t really seem possible.

The location is superb, but the service was very poor and the staff seemed completely unprofessional, with no customer service know-how. Hygiene was nonexistent. We stayed five nights and kept asking for extra pillows, but never got any before we left. The beds were extremely uncomfortable too. I was on the fourth and top floor. Whenever I asked for something to be brought to my room, the room service woman told me to come downstairs because she couldn’t make it up there. A very disappointing experience.

The rooms were dusty and poorly maintained. To get a Nile view, we had to climb the whole flight of stairs. The one thing that made the time pass was the service and the hospitable hosts.

The staff were very hospitable and did their best to accommodate us. The food was okay, neither good nor bad. The price was very reasonable. There are two terraces: the one at the hotel has a really nice vibe, while the one closer to the Nile, on the other side of the hotel, could use more attention to its atmosphere and decor. The guesthouse is in the heart of the Nubian village, which is a good location, but most rooms don’t have a view. Getting a Nile-view room means climbing lots of stairs, which is inconvenient. My room was spacious but very dim, and the sheets were smaller than the bed. The bathroom door was difficult to get through, and there was no shower cabin.
