The island is wonderfully peaceful, with no car horns, just animals and the wind over the Nile. Getting around is easy: the local ferry is a short walk away, or there’s a private boat if you prefer. Either way, it takes about 15 minutes to cross. The two owners gave us impeccable service, including takeaway breakfasts for early starts and breakfast prepared at very early hours to fit our needs. This guest house was fantastic and worth every cent. Thank you for hosting us, I can’t recommend it enough.

The hosts, Marta and Osama, were genuine, kind and helpful, and I had a beautiful, peaceful day at the Nubian Lotus. My room was comfortable and clean, with AC and mosquito repellent that worked really well. I loved the calm and the view from my balcony. Breakfast on the roof each morning was generous and Egyptian. Highly recommend!

This little house is on the west side of Éléphantine island, in a very rural, authentic Nubian setting. Martha and Osama made our two days feel just right. They’re cheerful and kind, and went above and beyond when we ran into issues with the next part of our trip. We wholeheartedly recommend the Nubian Lotus to anyone wanting to experience Aswan under the best conditions. Thanks again, Martha and Osama!

The island and hotel are both calm, quiet and relaxed. From the building you look out over the undeveloped, peaceful west side. Marta and Osama take good care of you, handling the booking professionally while being kind and personable during your stay. I had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back. I don’t usually leave hotel reviews on Google Maps, but this was my favorite place in all of Egypt.

We spent three nights here and had a great time. The guesthouse is right by the Nile, with a lovely view of the botanical garden. It’s beautiful, clean and well equipped, and the owners, Marta and Oussama, were so kind and helpful. Our Abu Simbel trip began at 6 am, and Marta prepared a delicious breakfast to take along. Just let her know early enough. We enjoyed our stay a lot!
