Nile Villa Hotel

I’d pick this hotel again without hesitation if I return to Cairo. The rooms are roomy, the bed was HUGE, and there was a balcony overlooking the Nile. Breakfasts were large with lots of choices. They also provide water and airport transfers, and the place was very clean. It was quieter than I expected by Cairo standards. We walked around the neighborhood during the day and at night and felt safe. There are shops and ATMs nearby, and if you’re up for a walk, you can reach both Tahrir and Downtown. The hotel offers driver services. If the transfer driver and the driver guy are the same person, I’d recommend him. He speaks great English and has lots of stories to tell. The place was a really nice surprise.

The service here deserves 5 stars. This little boutique hotel has some big features, especially the incredible view and its location in the old part of Cairo. The rooms are large, and the bed is the biggest I’ve ever seen. It’s clean, has good air conditioning, and provides water, tea, and coffee. The restaurant downstairs is right on the Nile, and the Courtyard is very quaint. After doing a Nile cruise on a 5 Star ship that wasn’t 5 stars, I’m not sure why this hotel is rated 3 stars.

Our twin room was spacious, with a big window. It was the cleanest room we stayed in during our time in Egypt, and the British-style decor stood out. The hotel is near the Nile, on a safe street, and the receptionist and restaurant staff were polite.

Sara was so kind and attentive, and her help really made the stay feel personal. The falafel and pie at breakfast were delicious, even though the rest of the selection wasn't especially impressive. Nile Villa itself was clean and comfortable, with a lovely, peaceful feel. I'd gladly return.
