Tolip El Galaa Hotel

The location was excellent, and room service was excellent too. Thanks to Ms Yarra and Ms Yousrina for their great customer service. The Wi-Fi was extremely poor. I also think the hotel needs a better balance between guest safety and respecting privacy and autonomy. The policy should allow flexibility based on each case, for the sake of EGYPT’S TOURISM REPUTATION. Customer service felt very strict and rigid, with no tourist mentality. Be aware that even with an executive room, your friends can't visit you in it. You have to meet them in the lobby.

The rooms are good, though the rugs need a deep clean. Breakfast has lots of options that might suit people living in Egypt, but as a South Asian I found the food average. It's a nice place to stay, with the airport close by, though the old city is a bit far.

Breakfast had very few options and was quite poor, and there was a bad smell around the pool. The old elevator was extremely slow, too. My room wasn't clean, which was a major problem. The security staff kept asking who I was, even when I'd only stepped out briefly to collect a delivery. I also felt uncomfortable seeing them treat Uber drivers poorly when they came to pick me up. The stay didn't meet my expectations.

The check-in was incredibly disorganized, and the outdoor breakfast space was so dusty that our clothes were covered in it. Breakfast itself was chaotic and the food was very poor. The rooms weren't clean, some had insects, and several guests developed skin rashes. The room was for three, but things like water bottles, tissues, and baskets weren't enough for all three of us. The elevator was old, slow, and scary to ride. The pool smelled awful even just walking past, and security seemed lacking, with people coming and going without passing security. One receptionist and the concierge were extremely rude. I ordered two bottles of water and had to pay when they were delivered to the room instead of at checkout. When I asked the concierge to help bring my bags from the parking area to reception, they refused, saying there were no cameras in the parking area. This was the worst hotel stay of my life, even worse than basic motels. I would never recommend it.
