The diving school attached to the resort was a real highlight. As a first-time diver, I felt safe with the experienced, friendly team. Captain Ahmed, Islem and Ahmed Ali made their PADI school feel professional while still keeping it fun, and they were flexible and helpful as we worked toward our diving goals, even with our rushed European schedule. We wanted a relaxed week with diving, and that's exactly what we got at this relatively small resort just outside Dahab. The resort has a lovely style, and the friendly staff were flexible around our dive schedule. No request seemed like too much. Dahab's underwater world is magnificent, with varied coral, fish and plenty of interesting dive sites. We did shore entries and exits, though boat dives are available too. If you want more of a town buzz, Dahab has lots of shops and restaurants and is easy to reach by taxi. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, without a doubt.

The location is about 3 km north of the town center, so getting to the Lighthouse for a night out is a bit of a trek. Still, if you're after a peaceful diving-focused stay, Daniela Diving Resort is a great choice. As a local guide who knows Dahab's underwater side, I find it a place to get away from the noise and reconnect with the sea. There's a house reef right in front of the hotel, so you can walk from the private beach and be snorkeling with turtles within minutes, without needing a boat. The on-site PADI 5-Star Dive Center has more than 20 years of experience, with options from beginner courses to technical diving, plus its camel dive safaris into Ras Abu Galum. The traditional Arabesque design suits the Sinai landscape. All 40 rooms face the sea, with sunrise views. For a break from mass tourism, there are two pools, a Bedouin-style beach bar, and plenty of shisha and tea spots. The atmosphere is completely relaxed.

This place felt like paradise, a hidden gem. I spent three weeks here in February on a perfect trip. The food was varied and amazing, and the staff treated me so well. Souad and Rashad at reception, and Saleh at the pool bar, were especially helpful and gave outstanding service. I'll definitely come back.
