We found the room clean and tidy, and Nabil and his team were kind and full of useful advice. It was a great base for beginning our Egypt trip and getting to know Cairo. The location made it easy to explore different parts of the city, and the price was very good for it. I'd recommend it.

The staff's kindness really makes hotel Osiris stand out. They were always keen to help, even packing breakfast for our day trip, and the driver waited patiently while we sorted out visas and currency exchange after landing. The hotel is a safe, reliable choice in Cairo, and being on the 12th floor keeps it very quiet. Our room was reasonably clean, smelled nice, and had been renovated. For the price, it's hard to beat, and the ratings feel deserved.

We needed a room at the last minute, and they luckily let us check in early. Everyone on staff was attentive and so kind, and they helped us a lot. There's also a gorgeous terrace. Definitely recommend!

We stayed January 22-26, 2026, in room 136, three guys from London. We flew into Sphinx Airport on Thursday afternoon and haggled an Uber down to $20. At the building, we went up the street steps and took the right lift to the 12th floor. It opens straight into reception, with no inner door. Mahmoud was very friendly, scanned our passports, and explained breakfast, which was included in the £28.27 rate from 7 to 11. The room was large, with a big single bed between two doubles. We had to ask for towels. There were no hooks or shelves in either the room or shower room, which wasn't great for three people, and just one bin by the bidet toilet for paper. The sink had no plug, but did have Sunsilk shampoo sachets and soap. The shower head was mounted very low, so I screwed it higher myself. The water pressure was good, enough to rinse off and clean razors. There were lots of fire detectors in the corridors. Wi-Fi made us log in again and again. The TV stayed on one channel and its remote didn't work. The new AC unit hadn't been used. The fridge was quiet, but there was no kettle. You could buy bottled water, though we refilled ours at the dispenser in the lobby. The ashtray didn't smell, and we don't smoke. We slept well both first nights, even during the 05:25 prayers, and didn't need earplugs. During the day, we sometimes heard chairs scraping around in the rooftop restaurant above us. The city chaos felt far away up there, and the view across the smog made you want to explore. Breakfast on the pleasant terrace was good: puffed bread, tasty cold bean stew (foole), felafel, halva, orange, banana, Happy Boy cheese, and chopped emmenthal. Tea and coffee refills were available before 11. It was chilly and windy one morning. Extra tissues were hard to get, tables took a while to be cleared and cleaned, and the nearby bins and ashtrays went unemptied for days. There was litter too, which wasn't a good look. Staff were friendly, but could pay more attention. A table cloth sat on the floor by the bar for ages. On our second morning, we arrived around 10. At 10:45 we asked for more bread and teas and coffees, Nescafé. The bread came quickly, but the staff disappeared and our drinks never arrived. They came back at 10:58 to clear the table, so I reminded them. Nabil returned at 11:02 to confirm the order, but since it was past 11, he charged us about 40 each. A waitress showed us a phone message saying, 'now you must pay.' It came to E£ 130. Nabil explained it as 40, 40, 35, plus 15 service. My friend was annoyed, but calmed down since it was too early to argue. We paid graciously, and things ended with smiles. It's a casual public restaurant after 11, so the prices and tipping made sense, but it felt like our 10:45 order had been forgotten on purpose. The meal was still pleasant, and the rooftop setting overlooking much of Cairo is unique. Breakfast worked out to only £1 each on top of the room, so the stay was still very good value. I got the feeling that once the owners realized we weren't big spenders on the guided tours in their brochure, they found other ways to improve their margins. Lesson learned, get to breakfast earlier! We chose to add a fourth night. On Bkg.c, I saw the same price we'd paid booking from London: £28/$38/£E1800 per night, including breakfast and taxes. At 23:25 I went to reception and spoke to the new receptionist, Ahmed. I explained we'd save them Bkg.c commission and a sheet change, which we didn't mind skipping over four nights. He checked and said the best deal was 1860, discounted to 1800. I said we'd decide in the morning. We ate breakfast earlier to avoid charges after 11 and left the young waiter a 20 tip. Later, another receptionist, Carlos, arranged the extra night for £E1800, including tax and breakfast, a little cheaper than Bkg.c because the exchange rate had changed. The fourth night went well. We checked out in the morning and took an Uber straight to Giza for 170 plus a 30 tip.

It was clean and comfortable, and the price was really good. The place felt safe and fairly peaceful up on the 12th floor. Getting an Uber around was easy from this location, which was fine. They were helpful and even upgraded our room.
