Half Moon - Sunny Dahab resort

The garden and pool look impressive, but the apartments are far from the nearest beach and even farther from town, more than an hour on foot. There's also no nearby supermarket, pharmacy, restaurant, or other service, and nothing to do there. No internet either. Without a car, I'd avoid staying here. Inside, we found cockroaches, a broken kitchen with poor utensils, a very dirty gas stove, and broken sockets, floor tiles, a curtain, and AC. I couldn't make breakfast until I bought a kitchen towel, knife, and plates in town. The garden furniture was broken too, and only held the weight of the cats. At least the security staff were helpful, and the resident dogs and cats were cute and friendly.

The place is way out of the city on the Sharm Dahab Road, and the beach is far from the building too. Without a car, getting around will be a real problem. It's still under construction, so most services aren't available, and there was no WIFI as I saw in the booking. Since it's open in the desert, you have to watch out for thieves. A lot of brokers also push you to pick units at different prices. I don't recommend it.

After all the trouble, Mahmoud wanted to charge me for a whole extra day for just a couple of extra hours in the morning. It felt greedy and unfair, especially after the poor stay, and it seemed the original owner might not even have known about the charge. The chalet wasn't clean and some devices didn't work. The AC was noisy and eventually broke down. Mahmoud said he'd deal with it, but I had to call repeatedly while he kept putting it off. A quick repair turned into a wait of more than five hours and cost me a day of vacation. He had also confirmed twice that he'd meet me at 2 AM, but when I arrived he didn't answer his phone. I waited over two hours in the middle of the night, and he never called back, sending someone else to sort it out. His behavior was unprofessional and unethical.

Such a quiet place with the best view. I love it.
