The beach was the highlight for me: clean and quiet, and fantastic for swimming and snorkeling. The room, though, was pretty gross. Paint was peeling off the wood, the lighting was awful and so weak I couldn't have got any work done, and the minibar was iced over and not working properly. The bathroom was poor and the shower was broken. Most of the staff seemed to be looking for a tip.

The hotel was fully booked, but they kindly let us use the beach as paid day-use. It has one of the best sandy beaches in Dahab.

The beach attendant first asked us for 500 Egyptian pounds per sunbed. I told him the usual price was 200, so I decided to leave, but just as I was about to go he agreed. My son, my wife, and I settled in. Then our neighbors on the sunbeds, mostly veiled women, complained to the staff that my wife was wearing a swimsuit, which seemed normal to us at the beach. After that, someone told me the sunbeds would cost 800 Egyptian pounds. We left because it seemed we were disturbing the women and their husbands. Dishonest.

The view was great, and the place was very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was fine, but the rooms weren't clean enough.

The sandy beach is wonderful, though there's not much in the way of facilities or activities apart from diving and the glass boat. As for comfort and service, the place was a little below okay.
