Panorama Bungalows Resort El Gouna

The spa treatment was great, and the staff were friendly. They even negotiated the price a little, especially since we booked several treatments. Food was good too, and the resort staff were super friendly. Our renovated room was clean and comfortable, though some details still felt unfinished. The bath took ages to fill because the resort uses hot water boilers. The resort itself looks decent, and they seem to be upgrading it in batches, so some areas are newer than others. The kajak rental is a rip-off at €10 per hour per kajak, especially compared with normal El Gouna prices. It's a nice place, but some areas still need a bit of love.

We'd never been to Egypt before, and two weeks after getting home my wife and I are already missing it. We stayed here for a week with friends and loved the whole time. Everyone at the hotel and down town made us feel welcome from arrival to departure. Heysham and Ibrahim deserve a special thank you, though the whole team were lovely. The food was excellent, and the weather suited me, warm enough for shorts but cool at night this time of year. All four of us had a full massage at the hotel. The girls were hilarious, and don't underestimate how strong they are. I'm a big guy and bussie (hope I've spelt her name right) threw me around like a rag doll. We couldn't stop laughing, it was quite an experience. My one suggestion would be to heat the pool in the early season, because it's freezing. The sea by the beach restaurant is much warmer. We think this place is a little jem, and we've booked for the same time next year, this time for 10 days. Tip the lads and lasses, even a little goes a long way and they appreciate it.

The food selection was brilliant, with fresh meat every day at the meat station, including lamb and beef. The cakes in both the restaurant and Cafe were incredible, and there are three other restaurants included in the all-inclusive, Chinese Italian and Asian. Most of the staff and housekeepers were exceptional and hospitable. Some rooms are much nicer than others, so you may need to haggle with reception. Lots of people were changing rooms and they would do it for you. We had to change two rooms and dealt once with a rude, argumentative receptionist, but fortunately didn't have to speak with him again. The TVs are old and don't have Netflix or Prime, so you're left with Egyptian TV and two movie channels. They should update them so guests can use their own streaming accounts. This was my first trip to El Gouna and Egypt, and I'd definitely like to come back. Probably one of the best all-inclusive hotels I've visited.

We had a water pressure problem in the room and the water even stopped halfway through a shower. It was fixed by the next day, and the pressure was better. The hotel's service was good, though, and Youssef from the Animation team is why I'm giving five stars. He had great nightlife recommendations, made sure we were safe all night, and has a great career ahead of him in animation and as a promoter. Plus, his dance moves are great!
