2 Jana Pyramids view inn

Ibrahim, his brother, and the rest of the family were very hospitable and accommodating at Jana Pyramids Inn. They helped us settle into Egypt and offered advice on making the most of our time. The rooms were very good for the price, and having air conditioners was a big plus. A family of cats kept us company, though anyone with cat allergies should be cautious. There are some drawbacks: hot water was unavailable most of the time, breakfast was exactly the same throughout our stay and got boring after the first two times, drinking water was sometimes delayed, and our towels weren’t changed at all. Still, there’s a great balcony view of the pyramid complex, very affordable pricing, delicious dinner for an additional 7$ per meal, and lovely hosts.

The place was great for the price, even if it isn’t the newest. Whenever we asked for something, Ibrahim helped right away, and water was always brought as soon as we requested it. His mom’s dinner was delicious and healthy, and very reasonably priced at $7. We also received some souvenirs when we left. I’d suggest using their airport pick-up/drop-off and joining tours with Ibrahim’s brother, Hossam. They may cost a little more, but the peace of mind was well worth it, and they were flexible. I got a bit sick on our last day and had to delay several things very early in the morning. Everyone was patient and helpful. With Hossam’s help, we managed to do everything we wanted in Cairo. He was informative and interesting. One tour had a mishap, but Ibrahim spoke honestly with us and made things right. You can trust them. I’d recommend the place for sure.

For a night spent visiting the pyramids, the location is ideal and the view is beautiful. Staying several days is a different matter. I wouldn’t recommend it, since you’re far from downtown Cairo and its lively atmosphere and need taxis to get around. The room was small and very dated, with wall stains, exposed wires, a battered wardrobe, a door that let hallway light underneath, and curtains full of holes. The bed was okay, but the sheets were stained, though they didn’t smell bad. The bathroom outside the room was spacious, but the toilet seat was in very poor shape and didn’t inspire confidence. Wi-Fi worked, but was unstable. We stayed seven days and nobody changed the sheets or brought fresh towels. Breakfast was identical every day, and we waited about 45 minutes to be served, even when we’d asked for a specific time. That was inconvenient when we had plans. The price was cheap, but the quality didn’t justify it. On our last night, the owner and his brother offered us small souvenir gifts, which was a kind gesture. Then they asked us to write a Google review as soon as possible. It made me uncomfortable, as if they were trying to “buy” us. In the end, the whole thing felt somewhat hypocritical.

There are nice places nearby to buy food, and for 7 dollars they can make you a lunch worthy of a pharaoh. The staff are kind and ready to help with anything. It’s an excellent place to stay, close to the pyramids and the grand egyptian museum.
