Horus Horizon INN Pyramids View

Waking up to a view of the pyramids was amazing, and the food was fresh and delicious. The staff were the best, helping us with everything and even coming along whenever our taxis arrived. Reception is open 24/24 h, so someone is there to help at any time. We’re grateful for a really nice stay.

They offered to move me to a better room at no extra charge, and the staff were polite. My room was spacious and very clean, with a million-dollar view. I absolutely loved the place and would definitely come back. Thank you!

I wouldn’t stay here again. Cash-only payment was my biggest problem. I had to withdraw a lot for the room and tours, and since I arrived very early from the airport I was almost out of cash straight away. There aren’t ATMs nearby, so getting more means walking or taking a ride. The online listings that mention an airport shuttle are misleading: they offer a taxi for a hefty fee, while Uber is very cheap here. The hotel is good value if you’re trying to save money, and my room was upgraded with a free ride from the airport because I booked tours. But the hotel pushed the tours hard. I booked two: the Nile dinner river cruise was a little overpriced but enjoyable, while the Egypt museum tour was very overpriced and I wouldn’t do it again. If you have time, visit the older museum of Egyptian civilization in Cairo instead. Despite the view, I didn’t find the location very good. Being able to walk around to small stores or boutiques is a real perk, worth paying a little more for. People in this area don’t seem used to tourists, and it didn’t feel very safe outside at night. The staff’s manner felt strange to me. I prefer to be left alone at hotels, but they kept asking where I was going or what I was doing, and the English wasn’t great. It made for a weird atmosphere. Breakfast was very good the one time I had it, but it starts at 8, so you’ll miss it if you need to head out early for a tour or sightseeing.

You’re getting a local atmosphere along with the view from the room or rooftop, rather than a quiet, polished neighborhood. It suits backpackers and anyone who puts friendly service and the Pyramids ahead of everything else. If you need luxury, silence, or a resort-like setting, it may not be for you.
