Locanda Pyramids Hotel

Room 101 gave me a moment of happiness I won’t forget. I was so pleased with the stay that I booked an extra night after my first three, and God willing, I’ll come back. I’ve stayed at many Giza hotels, from five-star places to budget ones, and it’s hard to know how to categorize this one. From arrival, there was care, cleanliness, warm hospitality, and a varied breakfast brought right to my room. The service felt worth many times what I paid. Mr. Islam, the manager, was truly professional, with more respect and better manners than any other hotel manager I’ve dealt with. A stay this good takes a manager who goes beyond ordinary standards. I rarely review a hotel on Google, but this one deserved it.

We were left without rooms the day before we were due to travel. I’d booked two rooms for three nights over New Year’s Eve, but three days before the trip the hotel messaged me on Hotels.com saying there was no room available and I had to cancel. After we went back and forth, I found the rooms had been listed again for twice the price, and both bookings were canceled. They insisted I had to cancel rather than doing it themselves.

The staff were really kind, and the view of the Pyramids at breakfast was fantastic. The food was good quality, though I’d have liked a few more breakfast choices. The room was very good and the AC worked perfectly. The streets are noisy, so bring earplugs, then you’ll sleep like a baby in the very comfortable bed.

For the price, it’s a good bed and breakfast with excellent pyramid views from the rooftop, where the atmosphere is relaxed. The rooms themselves don’t have good views, so set expectations accordingly. It’s just one street from the entrance to the pyramid area. The room was tidy and the wifi worked well, though water from the shower spread across the bathroom floor. Breakfast was okay, but the fresh vegetables and fruit juice with ice didn’t feel suited to the fears around Pharaoh’s revenge. When entering the address in navigation, use the full name since there are several places called Locanda.
