Omar was there for us day and night, even when he wasn’t on duty, and the whole team went out of their way to make us feel welcome and meet our little requests. We even got to have a private pool party with our own music! Pyramids Yard has a perfect location and an unforgettable view of the Pyramids at any time of day. It was a beautiful experience, and we’re so glad we chose this hotel. Absolutely amazing.

The rooftop restaurant and bar turned around my first impression of the hotel. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. The food was delicious, the view lovely, and the atmosphere relaxing. Thanks to the restaurant and bar team for being so kind and professional, they really made a difference.

We got the standard family room we’d requested, and the layout was convenient, with a sliding door between the room and sitting area. The room stayed cool without air conditioning, the fridge worked, the beds were firm but comfortable, and the cushions were memory foam. There were some marks from previous guests that couldn’t be removed. Shower pressure and heat were good, though the geyser is small and the water gets cold if people shower one after another. The toilet has a pipe. Water was provided on arrival, but not at breakfast. Breakfast had a variety of foods, including pastries, breadsticks, bread, cake, fruit, yogurt, and oats, as well as a toaster and snackwich maker but no warming oven. There was sachet tea, coffee, warm milk, and processed juice. The welcome was warm, and they allowed us to check in late in the early hours. Breakfast was lovely. The hairdryer didn’t work and tripped the switch. As far as we could tell, there was no elevator access to the pool or breakfast area for people who can’t walk. The pool was cold but private, overlooking the city and pyramids, and pool towels were available.

The food was good and service was speedy, but I can’t recommend this hotel after our family holiday of a week. For tours, we used Get my guide without issues. I would not book tours through the hotel. We booked and paid extra for a balcony room, but the room we were given had no balcony and the bathroom smelled bad. They said they were fully booked and couldn’t move us. Bar service was inconsistent. When someone was there it was okay, but sometimes we had to ask twice for drinks after a long wait. The hotel booked four trips to sights for us, and only one went smoothly. On one trip, a guide ignored direct police advice and took us into a situation close to a football riot. We only learned later about the police advice. My daughters were shaken, and we had to abandon the rest of that day’s trip. On another day, a three site visit was planned, but after the first stop the drivers refused to continue without extra payment. We ran out of time for the third sight, and on return the driver carrying my wife demanded more money to let her out of the car. You could be generous and put it down to things being lost in translation. I think it was a mix of sharp business practices and a ‘not interested, what are you going to do about it’ attitude. I complained after the second incident, but nothing changed. They didn’t seem concerned, perhaps because we were only staying a short time.
