Regency Pyramids Hotel

Our stay wasn't worth the price. There was no warm water the whole time, even after we let it run for the 10 minutes reception told us to try. Neither the room phone nor the number on Google Maps worked, so I had to go downstairs to speak to someone. The decor felt crowded and overdone, and the street outside was very noisy. Our room was beside the hotel restaurant, where strange music played all day. It wasn't a pleasant stay.

The view is the only thing the hotel really has going for it. Breakfast was plentiful and came with a nice look at the pyramids, but everything felt very dirty and unpleasant. We arrived at 3 in the morning to a room that wasn't in good condition, with loud music coming from the disco below. We changed rooms for the night, only to have construction and heavy traffic noise on the other side from 6 a.m.

We arrived at 2 a.m. with a confirmed, prepaid Agoda reservation and receipt, but the hotel said its Agoda account was fake and refused to accept the booking. We had no real choice at that hour, so we paid again for all five nights. Breakfast smelled bad and seemed expired. We tried it once, then avoided it. Loud music from the wedding hall and cafe went on all night and made sleep impossible, and the smell of smoke was everywhere in the hotel. The whole experience was stressful and unprofessional. I strongly wouldn't recommend it.

The hotel was comfortable, with fairly spacious rooms, and the breakfast spread was satisfactory. The dining hall and swimming pool both have a nice view of the Pyramids, and the location works well for tourists. There are several shops and lounges, and their prices weren't high compared with the market. The glass lifts give you a good look inside the hotel. The one drawback was that they couldn't provide complimentary WiFi.
