Soluxe Cairo Hotel

The Chinese restaurant served delicious food, and the staff were friendly enough to make us feel at home. It’s a Chinese hotel in Egypt, well placed for visiting the Pyramids and museums, with amenities like a pool and gym. Highly recommended!

We loved the peaceful, spacious surroundings, the pool, and the reasonable price. Staff were cooperative, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. Our room was huge, with a balcony, useful amenities including dental and shower kits, and slippers. When we arrived around 7:30 in the morning, reception offered early check-in once a room was ready. We waited until 9:30, then got in. The first room wasn’t what we’d booked, but reception happily changed it. There were some drawbacks. For a four-star hotel it felt quite old, and some furniture was worn. The balcony was large, but its window panels were dusty. We didn’t have enough plug points, there was no jet spray by the toilet, and we used the same towels for all four days. We also ran out of toothpaste because there were no extra dental kits. Even so, we loved our stay in Cairo. It was our first trip to Egypt, and we chose Soluxe Cairo Hotel for its proximity to Giza Necropolis.

The inner courtyard is beautifully landscaped, with a pool that’s both refreshing and lovely to look at. Our room faced into the courtyard, so we could relax without looking out at Cairo’s chaos. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious and airy, and the architecture is beautiful. One of the pyramids, the second largest, was visible from our room, and the Pyramids are about a five-minute drive away. The restaurant food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious, and the waiter was cheerful, polite, and helpful. The pool attendant worked hard to keep the pool area clean all day despite the wind and leaves, and was very kind. The manager was attentive, courteous, welcoming, and focused on finding solutions. All the staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke very good English. We ended up extending our stay. I’m grateful to everyone there and would gladly recommend the hotel.

It’s an average hotel. A few employees were good, but they only provided the complimentary water bottles if we asked. Breakfast needs to improve. The area is quiet, though there aren’t any restaurants nearby.
