A calm spot along the Nile, with convenient access to central Cairo and nearby attractions without being in the middle of heavy traffic. The rooftop has a beautiful panoramic river view, especially at sunset, and the pool and seating area are peaceful places to unwind after sightseeing. The staff are friendly and professional, making arrival and check-in easy. Rooms are clean, well maintained, and have the essentials for a relaxing stay. Some have partial Nile views. Breakfast offers a satisfying range of Egyptian and international dishes. Swiss Inn Nile Hotel combines a welcoming atmosphere and comfortable stay with good value. It’s a budget-friendly choice if you’re after a quiet stay by the Nile.

For my six-day trip, the staff made me feel welcome, and I had a truly unforgettable time. The hotel has several drivers and guides you can book for anything from a ride to dinner to a full-day tour around Cairo. On a free day, I asked Said to take me to his favorite places. We visited handmade pottery spots, had coffee and tea by the Nile, did a little shopping downtown, and finished with a delicious feast of Egyptian food. It’s a wonderful, budget-friendly hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The downsides were slow internet and a neighborhood that wasn’t very inviting for exploring during downtime.

I gave the hotel three stars because cleanliness is my top priority. We stayed three nights, from 7 to 10 December 2025. Friendliness matters too, but clean rooms matter most to me. As a cancer survivor, I have allergies when sheets are reused. Even at home, I have to change the sheets and pillowcases daily. When a guest asks for cleaning, there’s an important reason, even if they can’t explain everything. We asked for our room to be cleaned, including changing the sheets as part of the usual service, but housekeeping didn’t do it. They rearranged the sheets and left a tissue box and soap, but the room wasn’t actually cleaned. I kept my belongings in the cabinet so they wouldn’t be disturbed, yet staff opened it while my private clothing was hanging inside. They shouldn’t have opened it, and if they did, they should have closed it properly afterward. I left a tip for the cleaner on the first day. They changed the towels and added a tissue box and soap, but didn’t clean the room or change the sheets. I tipped again the next day, but again nothing was cleaned, so we had to ask reception to arrange it. The sheets still weren’t changed, which was disappointing. We planned to leave another tip on the third day, but after all that we didn’t. I don’t appreciate being treated as if I’m stupid. Housekeeping shouldn’t assume guests don’t notice what’s going on. We did. We did appreciate the friendly staff at reception and in the breakfast restaurant. If housekeeping had taken proper care of our room, I would have given five stars. Because cleanliness comes first for me, I rated the hotel three.

The staff were warm and welcoming, which made a big difference. Our rooms and bathrooms were comfortable, and the view of the Nile was beautiful. The nearby busy street made it quite noisy, though. Breakfast and dinner were good, but repetitive and nothing especially impressive. The WiFi was weak.

Breakfast was good, and the location is quite good, but the neighborhood is bad. The sound insulation is poor and the place wasn’t very clean. I wouldn’t rate it higher than a three-star hotel.
