Captain's Inn

For a no-frills hotel, this is a really good and probably one of the cheaper packages in El Gouna. The staff are excellent, friendly, and helpful, and there was no problem with noise despite being in the middle of the marina. You’re right on the harbor quay, among shops, restaurants, and a couple of bars, with access to a beach area and beach towels. Rooms are basic three-star standard, but clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee facilities, air conditioning, and a range of international TV channels. Breakfast is served at the neighboring restaurant right on the quay. It’s buffet style with plenty of hot and cold choices, including eggs and omelettes, and the staff there are extremely friendly and helpful. I’d have no hesitation about staying here again.

The view was pleasant and relaxing, though it wasn’t straight out to sea, and the rooms are on the small side. They were clean and well maintained, though, and the team’s care really made the difference. Staff were professional, attentive to little details, and checked in to make sure everything was okay. I stayed at Captain’s Inn from December 20 to December 23 and had a comfortable, enjoyable visit. I’d gladly return. Thanks to the team for making us feel so welcome.

I stayed at Captain’s Inn for five nights and came away with mixed feelings. The marina location is excellent, and the staff were the highlight. Our receptionist, Wisa, was especially professional and friendly, and went out of his way to help us feel comfortable. But the management choices really affected the stay. We paid extra for a room with a view, yet couldn’t sleep at all over the weekend. Music from nearby bars was loud until 3:00 a.m. Noise is expected in such a busy spot, but it’s frustrating that the hotel hasn’t installed double-glazed windows to help guests rest. Breakfast was also a letdown. There wasn’t much choice, the ingredients seemed cheap, and even the Foul wasn’t good. It felt like they were cutting costs on food quality. The hotel has a lot of potential, but management needs to improve the windows and food. If sleep matters to you, avoid the view rooms on weekends. I wouldn’t return, and if you care about a good breakfast, choose another hotel.

We had a lovely stay at Captains Inn in February 2026. The marina setting is great, with lots of restaurants to pick from. We were much happier after switching to a Junior Suite, which had a full separate bathroom and a balcony. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially Marco at reception and the cleaning team. Thanks for making the visit so enjoyable.
