Desert Rose Resort

The resort’s rooms, restaurants, and shared spaces were spotless and well cared for, and breakfast had plenty of fresh, tasty choices. My sister and I had a great stay at Desert Rose Resort in Hurghada. Wael and the breakfast and dinner team were wonderful, and the security staff by our building were always welcoming and helped us feel safe. The receptionist who checked us in and out was kind and professional, too. We’d gladly return and recommend it to families looking for comfort, good service, and a lovely setting.

The beach worked well for us, shallow near the edge for children and deeper farther out for a swim. There are lots of pools, sunbeds, and quieter spots, with one pool heated. The food had plenty of choice and was good. We mostly had cocktails made with local spirits, and they were quite tasty. It wasn’t very busy, about half full, which suited us, though I’m not sure how it would be at peak season. The reception was lovely and staff were helpful. Some building work was going on, but it didn’t bother us much. Wi-Fi varied by area and wasn’t great overall. People often approached us to sell trips and treatments, and the shops outside were there, though walking around without being pestered was difficult. We’d stay here again.

We had a garden-view room, and the balcony views were lovely. Sea-view rooms are available too. The grounds are spacious and beautifully kept, and there are a couple of restaurants right at the hotel. Our room was clean, and staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The beach sellers kept coming over about every five minutes to offer trips and services, which got annoying. Still, we had a great stay.

The people and the attention from the staff were the best part for us. Everyone was friendly and worked hard. There was even an Egyptian Superman on the beach who seemed to know exactly when to bring a fresh, cold beer! I only wish I could remember the names of the particular people who looked after us. We enjoyed the tasty food and the many pools, with something for different tastes. Desert Rose Resort has a cozy, calm, attractive feel inside, though its location may seem different if you’re expecting the busy Sheraton street. We’re glad we tried this hotel for the first time and don’t want to switch in the future.
