Golden Rose Hotel

The location is fantastic, close to the marina. It’s a cheap, basic hotel with breakfast and dinner and a bed to sleep in, nothing extra. The staff are helpful, but they speak only a little English, which caused us some confusion. They’re in touch with a travel agent who organises trips to Orange bay, Paradise island, Cairo, Luxor and elsewhere. If you’re interested, they can book an excursion with the organisers for you.

The receptionists were very hospitable, and our room was clean and comfortable. It’s well suited to families, I think, since the beach, marina and city centre are all very close. We didn’t need to use the car much. The hotel’s in a great location.

The room was dirty, with old furniture, and the bathroom was in poor condition. There wasn’t a proper place to sit and have coffee. The hotel itself wasn’t clean, and the staff weren’t polite. One of them spoke loudly and disrespectfully about a guest using bad language. A man named Ahmad spoke to guests with a cigarette in his mouth, and his appearance wasn’t appropriate for a hotel employee. The night was very expensive, but we didn’t get good service for breakfast or dinner. A very bad experience. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

I don’t know how, but everything in the room was broken. There were no bedsheets or soap, no showerhead, and no proper lighting. It felt like squatting in an abandoned building, except we’d paid for it.
