Scandic Resort

The hotel's location is good, near the city center, marina, and shops. I've stayed here twice, and while the beach is nice, the water is very cold. At a nearby beach, it was much warmer. The hotel still feels unfinished, with broken doors and elevators that don't work, though I've never had an issue with the room itself. The electricity and water credit system is unusual: when your credit runs out, you have to top it up, but only from 10 a.m. It even happened that the person in charge of recharging didn't come to work.

Several rooms are still being built, so there was some noise, and the new room still smelled a bit from the renovation. On the plus side, it's in the center of the tourist area, with plenty of restaurants, an ATM, and an apotheke nearby. The view was nice and so was the pool. I saw a gym, though I'm not sure if everyone is allowed to use it.

The area felt secure, though it was noisy. Our room was clean, with two separate beds, a washing machine, a kitchen, and hot water. The hotel was decent enough, but didn't provide basics like shampoo or shower gel. Cleanliness was somewhere in the middle, neither very clean nor very dirty, and we didn't care for the hotel's beach.

The room smelled of bleach and paint, and my wife has asthma and couldn't breathe in there. The owner wouldn't refund us or move us to a suitable room, so we ended up going back to Cairo. There were no other hotels available because we hadn't booked in advance. The listing said there would be one single bed and seven double beds for five adults in three rooms, but he offered us one room with three single beds. Don't waste your money on this hotel.
